How Writing can Help you Release and Heal
Writing is such a powerful but simple tool of healing that is so often overlooked. You do not need to be a writing expert to do it. In fact, anyone can do it. You do not need to be brilliant at spelling or grammar. You just need to be able to write and be willing to release. Writing to Heal is a simple but powerful way of releasing all that you do not need.
Over time we store the experiences of our lives in the form of energy of some sort within our bodies. All the stress, anxiety, sadness, arguments, the bad day or days we had, get stuffed down into our subconscious. All in the hopes of forgetting all about it, never having to face them again. But sorry, it doesn’t work that way. Once it is sitting within our system, there is a chance it will affect us in some way. And as more experiences of life come along, we stuff more energy down into our subconscious. This is a prime example of how our energy centres get blocked and we go over and over stuff we really should be letting go of.
The thing is, in modern day society we take so much time and energy caring for our physical body and not much is done to clean and clear that energetic part of our selves by ourselves. We are usually dependant on others when things get too much and we do not usually have a daily process ourselves in which we incorporate into our daily lives.
Writing can help with that, it can lighten the daily mental load of your life, helping you to live lighter and manage better. This is especially true for any moments in your life when you feel mentally heavy going, angry or overwhelmed with a problem.
Doing the simple act of writing out your pain and torment exactly how you are feeling it at the time, unfiltered is a powerful way to release and lighten your load.
When you write out the pain or anger, you take what is trapped deep in your energy body and make it into a physical form, the writing on the page. You can then easily dispose of that energy that is now physical form.
The Process
So, the next time you are feeling heavy, stressed or even angry, find a quiet spot in the day just for you. Dedicate this time as your space for healing. Get some sheets of paper, preferably quite a few. You will be surprised at just how much paper you can get through and a pen and just write. Let whatever that is weighing heavily on you, pour out onto the page. Don’t think or filter the emotion, let it out exactly how you are feeling it. Do not worry about punctuation or having the correct grammar or spelling, just write. If you are angry, be angry on to the page, write all the words you need, let the anger spill. The same goes with any other emotion or memory. Write out all the things you want to say but keep swirling around in your head and emotions. Write until it eases, and you have nothing more to say for now.
When you have finished do not read it back. Why go over all that hurt and pain again. This is after all a time of release. This is for you giving back to you. The simple act of writing out your pain is in fact taking your pain from an energetic place to a physical place on the page. The more you do it, the more you peel away at the layers of whatever it is that is having a negative effect on your life.
There are now two options on how you will release this energy. One is by water and the other is by fire. Either way is right and effective. The choice is totally up to you on which method you use. Trust your intuition on which one you prefer. Please note always use fire outside and if safe to do so. The burning method can be unpredictable, and the fire flares can kick back unexpectedly. This is especially the case if you are releasing anger or a toxic situation or person. Please stay safe people.
When using water, simply douse the paper with your writings in water, setting the intention mentally in your mind, ‘I am now releasing all this pain or anger or whatever the situation was you are releasing’. You can call in your Divine help or Universal energies for help in releasing this, the choice is yours. Water is our life source; without it we would not be here. It is purifying, cleansing and sustains life. What better way to release and make space for a positive new space within than by using water to cleanse the negative.
When using fire, it is done in very much the same way. You simply find a safe space outside and burn the paper with your writing, again setting the intention ‘I am now ready to release all this pain or whatever the emotion you are releasing’. Call on your Divine or Universal help if this is your choice and set it free. Really mentally set it free, be willing to let go. Fire burns and clears away what was so and is no more. It is like a spiritual reset button, aiding and energising you to rebuild in space of the old.
Breathe deep refreshing cleansing breaths after this process. Wash your hands and as you do, say the words, ‘I release what went before. What went before is no more.’ Drink plenty of water and rest up. Set yourself a nice, pampered bath or a nice pampering treat.
Another method for if you are on the go and really could do with releasing something, is to get your phone and type out the frustrations in the phones notes. Follow the process of letting it all go unfiltered. And when you have finished mentally say your releasing intention, 'I am now ready to release this pain, trauma or whatever it is you are going through.' Feel it from the deepest depths of your core and as you do Breath deeply, let go and Press Delete.
Do this exercise regularly or when you need to, or at least every so often. Eventually you will learn to go deeper and peel away the layers you did not know you were carrying. Let this exercise help you take the right steps to a better you, using the power of the written word to heal you and your life.
